A Parada interior do antigo quartel permite obter uma visão panorâmica da área Sul do concelho de Penamacor, onde se destaca a intrigante planura da “Superfície de Castelo Branco” irrompida por relevos residuais e condicionada pela mudança das litologias xistenta, granítica e quartzítica.

Para sudeste destaca-se o Sinclinal de Penha Garcia; para sul sobressaem os “Montes-Ilha” ou Inselbergs de Monsanto, Moreirinha e Alegrios; para oeste é ainda visível a Serra da Gardunha, um prolongamento da Serra da Estrela.
