IT.A.CÀ migranti e viaggiatori FESTIVAL DEL TURISMO RESPONSABILE
The museum repurposes some environments that existed in our area until the 1960s; in addition, the history of Italian emigration is told in the Small Museum of the Emigrant.
The Museum of Peasant Civilization of the Apennines re-proposes some of the environments that existed in our territory until the 1960s: a kitchen with a fireplace and a series of utensils, a bedroom, an elementary school classroom, and some work environments. There is also a reconstruction, in 1/3 scale, of a watermill.
In the Small Museum of the Emigrant, on large panels, the history of Italian emigration from 1875 to the present is told. Through documents and objects, the emigration of many men and women from Monghidoro is also reconstructed. There are also many photos and objects of new immigrants, who made the painful choice to leave their country to seek a different future in Italy, which thus, from being a country of emigrants, has now become a destination for immigrants for several years. Books, documents, filmed testimonies and films on emigration and immigration can be consulted in the Documentation Center.
