Kaarneenkoski rapid is the southernmost rapid of Niva village's currents and a very challenging one. It can only be paddled at high water. Therefore, a proper and functional towing track has been built to facilitate the passage.
A boat portage track or railway, has been built here, where paddling equipment or a light rowing boat can be pulled from one lake to another. On the platform wagon, moved by human power, the equipment can be transported conveniently and relatively effortlessly.
