Straubinger House from Blindau via Große Steinbach and Rührhübeltal
Rarely used shaded path, which is narrow and steep in the rear Steinbach valley.
Up to the Rührhübeltal, the route is not signposted and mostly unmarked.
At the end of the Steinbach valley, there are beautiful valley views and two waterfalls to see.

Straubing HouseSafety information
Due to missing signposting and largely missing markings, this ascent is only recommended with a good map, sense of orientation, and preferably with GPX support.
About 400 m after the concrete road bridge, the path turns left off the driveway and is easily overlooked because of vegetation.
In the steep part of the Steinbach valley, only one stream bed is crossed. At the second stream bed, the trail leads upwards a bit in a hairpin turn. Later, one must avoid a flat trail and instead continue ascending in a hairpin turn.

From the car park, we walk a short distance on the concrete road towards Hindenburghütte and then turn right onto the driveway towards Zwerchenbergalm.
After about 300 m, we leave the driveway on the left (easily overlooked) and first ascend moderately and later very steeply into the Steinbach valley and up to the ridge of the Farrenleite (observe safety instructions!).
Upon reaching the forest road from the Hindenburghütte, we cut off a long curve to the right and then cross the path.
A forest path first goes flat and finally downhill into the Rührhübeltal, where we meet the path from Sulzer Kaser (circular routes "Almgenuss" and "Gletscherblick").
From here, follow the signs uphill to the Straubinger House.
