A Keszthelyi-hegység számos kilátója közül a Vonyarcvashegy feletti a kevésbé felkapottak közé tartozik, bár a pazar kilátás ebből az építményből is garantált lenne. Sajnos az építmény életveszélyessé vált, ezért JELENLEG NEM LÁTOGATHATÓ.
A Vas-hegy 217 méteres csúcsán emelt háromszintes, fából épült toronyból rálátunk az alattunk fekvő, szőlőhegyek határolta Vonyarcvashegy házaira és a Keszthelyi-hegység déli szegélyére. A hegységet fürkészve jól kivehető a szomszédos Berzsenyi-kilátó, de a zárt erdőségben jól elkülönülnek a sötétebb színű fenyvesek is.
Az épület felső, nyitott szintjéről egészen közeli perspektívát kapunk a Balaton nyugati medencéjére, a Keszthelyi-öböl és a Zala találkozására. A tó felé tekintve szokatlan perspektívából látjuk a kis dombra épült Szent Mihály-kápolnát is.
A 2002-ben átadott kilátót a 18. századi magyar botanikusról, Kitaibel Pálról nevezték el, de 2021-re életveszélyessé vált, ezért lezárták.

- A helyközi buszokról a Vonyarcvashegy, vasútállomás bejárati út megállónál szálljunk le.
- Vonattal érkezve a Vonyarcvashegy állomásig utazzunk.

- A buszmegállótól a főúton induljunk kelet felé. A nemsokára balról induló Z▲ jelzés vezet a kilátóhoz (1,2 km).
- A vasútállomástól a Kossuth Lajos utcán (P, Z jelzés) egyenesen megyünk a főútig, ahol jobbra fordulunk. A túloldalon hamarosan induló Z▲ jelzés vezet a kilátóhoz (2,1 km).
Parking
- Autónkat a Kálvária-domb aljában, a Batsányi utca-Szellős utca-Fénykereszt út találkozásánál tehetjük le.
