A tisztás a nevét a Pallavicini család vadászháza mellett álló gloriette-ről kapta – ma már egyik sem látható, ahogy az egykori Szalajka falu házai sem. Arra sem utal semmi nyom, hogy egykor a kisvasútra drótkötélpályán szállították a hegyen található mészkőbányában kitermelt követ, manapság már csak a turistáké a terep.
A közeli Fátyol-vízesés viszont teljes pompájában mutatja magát, a közelben találjuk a Szabadtéri Erdei Múzeumot is, ahol olyan foglalkozások eszközeit, építményeit, munkafázisait rekonstruálták itt eredeti környezetükben, mint az ölfavágás, a mész- és szénégetés, zsindely-, gyanta- és üvegkészítés vagy hamuzsírfőzés, azaz a régi erdei mesterségekkel lehet ismerkedni. A Szikla-forrás sincs messze, ahogy az Istállós-kői-barlang sem – bár utóbbihoz le kell küzdeni némi szintet is.
