The gorge of Pirunkirko, i.e. devel's church, located in Paljakka, rises up to 20 meters above the surface of the river. River Louhenjoki flows through the gorge.
Pirunkirko's rocky, partly ravined and colored landscape of stone pavers stimulates your imagination. There are many different stories about this place. A vicar is said to have named the place Pirunkirkko - i.e. devel's church - because a stone plinth had been found there that resembled a pulpit.

- From national road 78, turn onto the road leading to Ristijärvi (888). Drive approx. 11 km, then turn north onto street Hoikanvaarantie (the sign says Paljakka 3). Drive along Hoikanvaarantie for about 3.5 km. A kilometer after Paljaka ski resort turn right onto Holstin road. Drive along Holstin road for about 3.5 km, after which the Pirunkirkko parking lot is on the right side of the road
- When coming from the northern direction of Hyrynsalmi, turn left from Hoikanvaarantie street onto Holstin road (about one kilometer before Paljaka ski center). There is also a street connection from the ski center to Pirunkirkko parking area.
