Long-distance hiking trail Juliana Trail

Along the extended Juliana Trail, you won't conquer any of the alpine peaks. At the foothills of high peaks, the trail leads you along the edge of the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park.
- Total length: 270 km (original circular trail - 16 stages)
+ 42 km (3 extra stages to Breginjski kot)
+ 60 km (4 access stages from Brda) - The total difference in altitude: 10,000 m ascent and 10,000 m descent
- Average stage length: 17.5 km (4–5 hrs)

Before starting your journey, we strongly recommend checking updates and current conditions for each stage to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Please also note that there are no mountain huts along the Juliana Trail. The route takes you through the foothills of the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park, without ascending alpine peaks.

The Juliana Trail is a fairly non-demanding, educational, circular trail, inviting you to discover, learn and experience barely noticeable small natural wonders that can bring about an unusual feeling called happiness.

Online guide for Juliana Trail - check maps, 3D previews and GPS tracks (GPX, KML) for each stage. There is also Juliana Trail mobile app available for download for iPhone and Android. The trail is safe and mostly easy to navigate as it follows marked paths, forest roads and mountain trails, logically connecting destinations around the Julian Alps. Guide book and collecting stamps
You can now collect 24 stamps on the Juliana Trail (usually one per stage, in some places even two). The locations of the stamps are marked. We have published a new edition of the trail guide and included a section for collecting stamps (you need an ink pad for this). The person who collects the stamps and sends the section with the stamps to our Juliana Trail Booking Centre will receive a diploma and a prize.
The price of the printed guide is €5. You can buy the trail guide at one of the 25 points of sale (mostly tourist information centres) and at the online shops of each destination. NOTE: Unfortunately, we do not offer shipping outside the EU.

Navigate your trails like a PRO
For a perfect adventure, planning ahead is essential. And when you are already on the trail, you can navigate safely using both, digital and printed versions of the map. If in doubt, follow the signs and don't hesitate to ask locals for directions. We update the digital version of the maps when necessary, making sure, the real-time conditions are reflected as soon as possible.
