Sasrét az Almamelléki Erdei Vasút egyik végállomása.
A sasréti szárnyvonal 1925-ös kiépülésekor jött létre, és a kezdetektől bonyolít utasforgalmat, hiszen a kisvasút építtetője és tulajdonosa, báró Biedermann Rezső iskolát alapított itt a környékbeli gyermekek számára, továbbá a közelben található vadászkastély vendégei is igénybe vették a kisvasutat.

A több mint száz éves épület ma is várja a látogatókat, vendégházként üzemel. Közelében áll a megye egyik legöregebb erdeje, egy 200 éves ősbükkös, és a sasréti tanösvény is elérhető egy kényelmes sétával.
