Public transport
- A Zselici csühögő kisvasúttal a Sasrét kisvasúti végállomásig kell utazni, de a vonatok csak szezonálisan közlekednek.
- Busszal érkezve az Almamellék, erdei vasút buszmegállóban kell leszállni, ami közvetlenül a kisvasút végállomásánál található. Innen erdei vasúttal, a Zselici csühögővel juthatunk el a Sas-rétre, de a menetrendben mindig ellenőrizni kell, jár-e a kisvasút.
- A Terecsenyi elágazás buszmegállóig is utazhatunk, de utána többet kell sétálni a tanösvényig, illetve az erdei szállásig.
- A Terecseny, forduló buszmegállótól 4 km gyaloglással közelíthetjük meg a tanösvényt és az erdei iskolát.

- Az erdei iskolának a kisvasút vonalán külön megállója van.
- A Terecsenyi elágazás buszmegálótól Kaposvár, azaz észak felé kell elindulni. A 67-es útból kb. 100 méterrel később, jobbra kiágazik az aszfaltozott bekötőút, amelyen egészen Sasrétig lehet sétálni (4,9 km, 20 m szintemelkedés).
- A Terecseny, forduló buszmegállótól a P◼ és K◼ jelzések Sasrétre vezetnek (4 km, 96 m szintemelkedés).
Parking
- Az erdei iskolánál ingyenesen lehet parkolni.
- Sasrét a 67-es főútról 4 km hosszú, aszfaltozott bekötőúton közelíthető meg, amely a Terecsenyi kijárótól Kaposvár felé kb. 100 méterre, kelet-északkeleti irányba ágazik le.
