Az egyhajós istenháza déli oldalán sekrestye, a hajó északkeleti sarkában redukált mellékszentély volt valaha. A 13. században emelt épület a hódoltsági időkben elnéptelenedett Fülöp falu temploma volt – egyes források szerint meglehetősen hamar, 1548-ban felégették a települést a törökök.
A falu a 18. században újjászületett, beindult ismét a szőlőművelés és a révhajózás, azonban a templomot nem használták többé. A Balaton-felvidékre jellemző vörös homokkőből épült, a méteres vastagságú falak pontosan jelzik az épület eredeti arányait. A 20. század közepén csak az északi oldala állt, többi fala és a sekrestyéje az 1953-as műemléki helyreállítás alkalmával került elő. Érdemes alaposabban szemügyre venni a nyugati részen levő, vörös homokkőből készült félköríves, gazdag bélletű kaput is.

- A Balaton északi partján futó Székesfehérvár-Tapolca vasútvonal Révfülöp állomásán kell leszállni.
- Helyközi buszjárattal érkezve pedig Révfülöp, vasútállomás megállóhelyen.

- Az állomás felett átívelő gyalogos felüljárón kell átkelni a Balaton felé, a Halász utcán balra fordulni, majd az első lehetőségnél ismét balra.

- A templom melletti kis parkolóban lehet megállni.
