A hilltop without trees and even rock formations is uncommon in Hungary. Although Nagy-Szénás is not an Alpine meadow but pine trees and the empty top make that illusion. The 360 degree view is probably one of the best near Budapest. Of course, its bareness it due to human activity as clear cutting was not followed by planting and trees could not reclaim the hill with eroded top soil. Scything and grazing also kept it empty. It is home to several rare species of plants granting a hill a European Diploma and highly protected status.
Besides Pilis, Visegrád Mountains and Buda Hills you can see Kevélyek and in clear weather even Mátra, too. The view from here also explains why Nagykovácsi is a dead-end village. On the other side of the village Nagy-Kopasz is visible with Csergezán Pál lookout tower on the top. Kutya-hegy, another member of the Szénás range is just a few centimeters lower than Nagy-Kopasz (559 m), which is the highest of the area.

- Take bus 63 from Hűvösvölgy and get off at “Nagykovácsi, községháza”.

Directions
- Head north from the bus stop along Antónia Street following the Red (P) Trail (Total distance: 2.3 km).
Parking
- Nagykovácsi is accessible from Hűvösvölgy, Máriaremete and Budakeszi Street. At the roundabout merging the roads from these directions exit towards Nagykovácsi. Drive across Remeteszőlős to arrive at the village. Park the car in the center and hike up the hill.
- For the shortest walk, follow the Red (P) markers by car and turn right onto Antónia Street, then turn left onto Sport Street and right onto Bánya Street. At the Y junction head left along Szeles Street. Park your car at the end of the street and follow the markers up the hill.
- Free of charge parking along roadsides.
