On the Jerusalem Trail, active holidays and culture can be perfectly combined. The route runs about 44 km from Sataf through Israel's capital and around it. Numerous historic sites and sights are passed: the Old City, the Kidron Valley, the Mount of Olives, the Holocaust memorial Yad Vashem, the Garden of Gethsemane with its gnarled olive trees, and the Skopusberg are just some of the well-known and worth-seeing places in Jerusalem. The path runs mostly on wide dirt roads outside Jerusalem and on paved roads within it.

Tips and suggestions
Accommodation tips:Roadbook
The Jerusalem Trail starts at the Tarbut Sataf Reserve west of the city of Jerusalem. We follow the white/gold/white markings, which initially guide us about 11 km on natural paths northeast through the landscape. Along the way, we pass Haratberg. After crossing Route 1 twice, the path leads us southeast to Maoz Zion, a suburb of Jerusalem. On Shmu'el ha-Navi Street, we reach the northwestern part of the Old City. We follow Route 60 to the Skopusberg, from where we have a fantastic view over Jerusalem. We descend on the south side of the hill and walk on narrow paths through the Kidron Valley. To our left is the Mount of Olives, to the right is the Temple Mount. We now walk south of the Old City and reach the Knesset, the Israel Museum, and the Hebrew University. We then reach the city's outskirts again. We pass the Hertzelberg with the Holocaust memorial Yad Vashem as well as Ein Kerem, an ancient town within the current city limits of Jerusalem. To return to the starting point, we follow the path past houses and across fields.
