Kalkeifel Cycle Path (Ahrdorf - Hillesheim-Bolsdorf)
Winding link between Ahr and Kyll
Without major climbs but with many bends, this rather short cycle path leads through the valley of the Ahbach over the watershed between the catchment areas of the Ahr and Mosel. About half of the route runs on a former railway track.
As a link between the Ahr Cycle Path and Kyll Cycle Path and in combination with the Rhine-Mosel-Eifel Cycle Path, it is perfect for shorter and longer circular rides in the Eifel. The path itself offers plenty of sights such as the steadily growing Dreimühlen waterfall, the crime city Hillesheim (both accessible by short climbs), Kerpen Castle, Niederehe Monastery, and much more.
Sights along the way
- 13th-century town fortifications in Hillesheim
- Natural monument Dreimühlen waterfall
- Kerpen Castle
- Niederehe Monastery

Connections
Ahrdorf: Ahr Cycle Path
Hillesheim-Bolsdorf: Kyll Cycle Path
Route Ahrdorf-Niederehe (7.5 km): Runs parallel with the Maare-Mosel Cycle Path
The Kalkeifel Cycle Path and the Kosmos Cycle Path as well as the Mineral Springs Route are important long-distance and cross-connections as well as complements for the Kyll Cycle Path, Maare-Mosel Cycle Path and Ahr Cycle Path. Thus, the Kalkeifel Cycle Path connects the Kyll Cycle Path and the Ahr Cycle Path. The Mineral Springs Route connects the Ahr Cycle Path with the Maare-Mosel and the Eifel-Ardennes Cycle Path. The Kosmos Cycle Path is directly connected to the Maare-Mosel Cycle Path, extending the cycling experience with a small excursion.
