This fountain is in Monclassico, in the municipality of Dimaro Folgarida. Monclassico is a real open-air museum, thanks to more than 50 sundials that decorate its streets.

Relocated and renovated in 2002 using parts from the old late eighteenth-century fountain, the fountain that since 1495 has lent its name to the square is part of a true tribute to water. A nearby fresco dated 1511 is evidence of this, inviting people to pray to the Virgin Mary, seeking “the coolest water”.

The fountain in Monclassico is part of the Uno Di Un Milione project. Here, through the QR codes on the original water bottles and the dedicated app, you can take part in an experience of art, relation and participation that will help you explore the water running through Val di Sole, discovering how the community in this valley has creatively imagined its own vision of protection for the environment and future generations. Public transport

You can reach the town of Monclassico with the TRENTO-MALÈ-MEZZANA train (download train times out and back). From the train station, walk about 200 metres along the road to Ristorante Anna, down through the handy underpass. From here, walk the length of Via Fassa until you come to Piazza della Fontana.

Directions

On the S.S. 42 state road, turn right at Ristorante Anna and, once you reach the town of Monclassico, drive all the way down Via Fassa to Piazza della Fontana.
