A natural spectacle and one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe. With a new visitor platform!

The waterfall gets its name from the nearby ruins of the Wildenstein Castle, which is believed to have been destroyed in the earthquake of 1348. Today, a district of the municipality of Gallizien is named Wildenstein. The serpentine ascent to the waterfall is harmless in the first two-thirds, but it becomes a bit more strenuous in the last third. With every step, the sounds and refreshing coolness of the waterfall draw closer. On the platform at the Wildenstein waterfall, there are seating accommodations, where one can rest and enjoy the view of the waterfall that bursts forth from the vertical rock face and falls 54 meters. From here, one can also start a beautiful, though not easy, hike to Hochobir (2,139 m).
