La Cascade du Palin est située au bord de la route de la partie nord du Lac de Nantua dans l'Ain.

Située dans une région au relief karstique, les eaux alimentant le cascade s'infiltrent rapidement dans les failles de la roche calcaire. Pour avoir une chance de voir son débit au maximum, privilégiez le printemps ou l'automne après quelques jours de pluie.
Depuis le parking de l'esplanade à l'entrée de la ville, longez le lac par la voie douce en direction du nord-ouest. Au niveau du restaurant Le Belle Rive, traversez sur le passage piéton pour accéder au pied de la cascade.
