Von hier kann man seinen Blick über Teile Radebeuls und Richtung Meißen schweifen lassen. Bei gutem Wetter kann man den Meißner Dom erkennen.
Der Weinberg Zechstein gehört zur Weinbau-Einzellage Radebeuler Johannisberg. Er liegt im Denkmalschutzgebiet, was schon zu DDR Zeiten so war. Oberhalb im Weinberg liegt die Erhebung Zechstein (210m), bei der am Weg Am Zechstein die Zechstein-Aussicht liegt, ein traditioneller Aussichtspunkt über diesen Teil der Lößnitz. Es wartet sie dort ein schöner "Rastplatz" mit Bänken und einem kostenlosen Fernrohr. In der Nähe befindet sich das Flächennaturdenkmal Zechstein Radebeul.

- mit der S-Bahn vom Dresdner Bahnhof bis zum Coswiger Bahnhof
- Buslinie 400 bis zur haltestelle Radebeul Neuländer Straße und dann sind es zu Fuß noch ca. 1,6 km bis zum Aussichtspunkt "Am Zechstein"
