Das "Welzower Fenster" bietet nicht nur über die aktive Grube einen einmaligen Panoramablick. Vielmehr kann von hieraus ideal die unmittelbare Umgebung und die Stadt Welzow selbst überblickt werden. Zusätzlich geben zwei Infotafeln zur nachbergbaulichen Rekultivierung sowie zur Eiszeit in der Niederlausitz Auskunft.
