Wartturm4
The Wartturm in the Schillerhain is a late medieval quarry stone building from the 15th century.
On the 360 meter high Wartberg and about 700 meters west of Kirchheimbolandens city center is the Wartturm built from quarry stones. It was built in the 15th century as a supplement to the city fortifications and is in the immediate vicinity of the Schneckenturmn and the Wasserturm in the Schillerhain. The watchtower has a round floor plan, a height of 11.50 meters and a diameter of 4.50 meters. 51 steps lead to the viewing platform of the 11.50 m high Wartturm on the 360 m high Schillerhain / Kirchheimbolanden. In the southwest you can see the Donnersberg, in the east the places beyond the A 63 (e.g. Rittersheim, Gauersheim) and the Alzeyer hill country.
