Die am 2. August 2012 eröffnete Aussichtsplattform „Steinitzer Treppe“ befindet sich auf der höchsten Erhebung der „Steinitzer Alpen“ im gleichnamigen Ort der Stadt Drebkau. Optisch erinnert der 117 Tonnen schwere Stahlgigant an den Ausleger einer Förderbrücke im Braunkohlentagebau. Nach exakt 101 Stufen haben Besucher die Möglichkeit, in 171 über NN einen Blick in den Randbereich des aktiven Tagebaus Welzow-Süd und auf die bereits rekultivierten Flächen bis hin zu den Lausitzer Kraftwerken und das Oberlausitzer Bergland zu genießen. Bei guter Sicht ist „Tropical Islands“ bei Brand in 56 Km Entfernung zu erkennen. Ein Schrägaufzug ermöglicht auch mobilitätseingeschränkten Besuchern und Rollstuhlfahrern (bis max. 250 kg) die einzigartige Aussicht zu genießen.
