Søbakkerne befindet sich auf der dänischen Insel Mors, nicht weit von der Inselhauptstadt Nykøbing Mors entfernt.
Von Søbakkerne bietet sich ein wunderbarer Blick über Legind Sø, Legind Vejle und Sallingsund mit der Inselhauptstadt Nykøbing im Hintergrund. Die Umgebung ist seit der Antike immer wieder bewohnt. In der Steinzeit vor 5000 Jahren lag das Meer höher als heute und der See war damals ein Fjordarm. Jäger und Fischer der Ertebølle-Kultur lebten hier und am Fuße der Søbakkerne findet man ihre Küchenreste. Auch während der Wikingerzeit war das Gebiet bewohnt, das Dorf lag damals auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite in Fårup.
