In the field of view of the stele, you see the confluence of the Elsterbach valley into Johannisberg-Grund.

The Taunusbach has kept pace with the uplift of the mountains and has carved deeply into ancient erosion surfaces, former Rhine terraces. The warm, southwest-facing side of the steep valley slope is used for viticulture.
