Die Reinacher Heide liegt an der Birs auf Boden der Gemeinden Reinach und Arlesheim. Obwohl nur 39 Hektaren gross, beherbergt dieses Gebiet doch fast die Hälfte aller im Kanton vorkommenden Pflanzenarten. Damit gehört die Reinacher Heide zu den wertvollsten Naturschutzgebieten des Kantons Baselland. Das Gebiet wird vor allem durch drei Vegetationstypen charakterisiert: die Schotterflächen, die Magerwiesen und den Auenwald. 1994 wurde die Reinacher Heide vom Bund als «Naturschutzgebiet von nationaler Bedeutung» ausgezeichnet.
