The panoramic board Eupen Moorenhöhe offers an outstanding view of the lower town and explains amongst others buildings from the heyday of the textile industry (19th century).
The export of fabrics was the basis for the wealth of the Eupen merchant families. In the 18th century, some of them created a monument to themselves with magnificent patrician houses in the upper and lower town. The success of the cloth industry went hand in hand with social progress - workers' housing estates, day nurseries, a trade school and the Wetzlarbad were built.
