Naapurinvaara is a lush hill and village north of Vuokatti. From the top of the hill, a stunning scenery opens up in the direction of Vuokatti and Sotkamo, as well as to Lake Nuasjärvi. The nature of the area is particularly lush grove forest and pasture. Naapurinvaara is the oldest residential area in Kainuu which has been inhabited since the 16th century. The area has been defined as a nationally valuable landscape and a significant cultural-historical environment
The traditional landscape and nature of Naapurinvaara can be admired in summer by hiking the Naapurinvaara nature trail. Also a 15 km long bicycling route brings you from Vuokatti to Naapurinvaara.

Directions
Naapurinvaara viewpoint is close to Vuokatti. The viewing point at Naapurinvaara Dance hall, is 6 km from Holiday Club Katinkulta, about 10 km from Sotkamo and 30 km from Kajaani. From the direction of Sotkamo or Kajaani: From Pohjavaara road (road no. 899) turn to road 9010 / Naapurinvaarantie. After 2 km turn left to reach the destination.
