A Tábor-hegy oldalában, még éppen a házak fölött, de már jócskán az erdőbe ékelődve panorámás sziklabércet találunk: a Kőtaraj szép kilátását fenyők árnyékából élvezhetjük.

A Hármashatár-hegy csoportjához tartozó Tábor-hegy sasbércét nagyobb részt dolomit, kisebb kiterjedésben mészkő építi föl. A Máramaros út erdőalji házsorainak közelében, egy apró bércnyúlványon a dolomit a felszínre bukkan és tisztásként fehérlik a fák közt. A sziklák lépcsőszerűen helyezkednek el egymás alatt, hátukról szép a kilátás Budapestre. Feltűnik a város legnagyobb panel lakóháza, a 800-nál is több lakást tartalmazó „Faluház" és mögötte, az Árpád híd túloldalán Pest. Észak felé elsősorban Óbuda, Újpest és Káposztásmegyer azonosítható.

A mikroklíma sajátossága, hogy a fedetlen, fehér sziklafelület visszaveri a napfényt, ezért nyáron, tűző napon igen nagy hőség keletkezhet.

A hangulatos sziklakiszögellést a korábbi erdőtelepítések hírmondójaként megmaradt néhány fenyő teszi igazán barátságossá. Oldalában a turistaút jelzése murvás ösvényen vezet le az erdőbe. A turisták körében kevéssé ismert kilátópont általában nyugalmas pihenőhely, melyet a tömegek elkerülnek.

  • A buszmegállótól a Máramaros úton kell továbbindulnunk a K▲ jelzésen, mely érinti a Kőtarajt (600 m, 61 m szintemelkedés).
  • Az Országos Kéktúráról a Hármashatárhegyi út (lentről fölfelé haladva) 2. kanyarjánál kell áttérnünk a K▲ jelzésre, hogy a sziklákhoz jussunk (700 m séta).

Parking

  • Parkolni a Máramaros úton tudunk, legegyszerűbben a buszfordulónál tehetjük le az autót.
