It stands on a stone terrace on the southern side of Látó Hill. Some say it has been built in the architectural style which is common in Transylvania. The tower is partly covered with terraces and small towers. It was built in 1929 supported by Frigyes Glück hotel owner and alderman, designed by Friedrich Lóránt. It has become a very popular tourist spot recently.
Southwards the spacious terrace affords a spectacular panorama of Budapest. On the right from the winding Danube you can see the Gellért Hill, with one of the symbols of the capital, the Statue of Liberty on the top. Alongside the river a lot of beautiful bridges can be seen connecting the two sides of the city, Buda and Pest. As small as a tiny stain Buda Castle and the building of the Hungarian Parliament are visible to the naked eye. Looking through a telescope you can spot many famous buildings.
As an extra, we can see amazing fireworks over the city on 20 August.
Since all the fire pits, tables, benches and waste containers were renovated at the end of 2013 it is perfect for barbecue. The marble monument commemorating Frigyes Glück has also been renovated.
