Die Kipphornaussicht ist die südlichste Panoramaaussicht in der Sächsischen Schweiz. Man genießt einen 270° Panoramablick von der Böhmischen Schweiz über die Tafelberge des Elbsandsteingebietes bis zu den Affensteinen. Das Flusstal der Elbe ist eindrucksvoll in das Gebirgspanorama eingebettet. Ideale Foto-Bedingungen hat man ca. 1-4 h nach Sonnenaufgang. Der herbstliche Morgennebel entlang des Elbtales ist ebenfalls ein Schauspiel !
Die Aussicht ist für Fotografen ein MUSS, da man leider vom Großen Winterberg aufgrund der inzwischen riesigen Buchen keinen vergleichbaren Blick hat.
Die Kipphornaussicht befindet sich auf der westlichen Seite der Bergsmassives Großer Winterberg in ca. 480 m Höhe.
Man erreicht die Aussicht von Schmilka über die gelbe oder rote Wegmarkierung oder über den Malerweg. Die gelbe Markierung verläuft im oberen Bereich entlang der Fahrstraße zum Großen Winterberg. Der gelb markierte Weg verlässt schließlich die Fahrstraße. An dieser Stelle zweigt auf der anderen Straßenseite ein Pfad zur Aussicht ab. Das ist eigentlich unproblematisch, da Wegweiser direkt auf die Kipphornaussicht aufmerksam machen.
Erfolgt der Aufstieg über den Malerweg, muss man man kurz vor dem Gipfel des Großen Winterberges nach rechts in die Fahrstraße abbiegen. Nach ca. 200 m erreicht man den Zugang zur Aussicht.
