The heart of the viewpoint is a semi-circular stone viewing platform. Metal plates have been set into the top of the wall, on which various striking destinations in the distant view are inscribed. In this way, well-known mountains and landmarks in the surrounding area can be directly identified. On a clear day, the view extends to the Three Imperial Mountains - Hohenstaufen, Rechberg and Stuifen - as well as other prominent elevations in the Swabian Alb such as Teck Castle, Limburg Castle and Boßler.
Seating under a large, free-standing tree invites you to linger. The quiet location in the middle of the open cultural landscape makes the viewpoint a popular destination for walkers, hikers and cyclists.
The Diegelsberger Platte is located near the small villages of Diegelsberg and Krapfenreut, which belong to the town of Uhingen. The surrounding villages of Baiereck, Diegelsberg, Holzhausen, Nassach, Nassachmühle and Sparwiesen still shape the rural character of this region in the western district of Göppingen.
