The 516-meter-high Eckkopf is the perfect hiking destination at any time of the year. From the Eckkopf Tower, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Pfalz Forest and the Rhine Plain.
The Eckkopf Hut is usually open on weekends and holidays from late February to late November, and the wind-sheltered veranda invites you to take a break at any time.
Experience the Eckkopf as a nature experience, viewpoint, and place of relaxation in the Pfalz.
The Eckkopf is accessible from all directions. Here is our circular hiking tour tip from Deidesheim over the Heidenlöcher to Eckkopf:

A great viewpoint for vertigo-free hikers: The Eckkopfturm near Deidesheim
The Eckkopfturm was built in 1975, after the first tower at this location was destroyed by a storm in 1920 and its successor succumbed to an arson attack in 1975, after only about 14 months of operation. The now steel-constructed view tower, approximately 25 meters high, quickly became a "hub" for hikers between Bad Dürkheim and Neustadt. Almost all paths from the Wine Route lead to the Eckkopf, which is 516 meters high. The tower, which is managed on weekends and holidays by clubs from the Deidesheim collective municipality, can be reached via well-signposted hiking trails from the Wachenheimer Valley or from the west via Lambertskreuz. However, those who "conquer" the Eckkopfturm should be free of vertigo: 107 steps lead to the approximately 25-meter-high observation platform, from which one has a unique panoramic view over the Rhine Valley and the Pfälzerwald Biosphere Reserve!
