Weil sie sich der Liebe zu einem gewöhnlichen Bauernjungen hingab, wurde das schöne Burgfräulein einst von Schloß Rodeck verstoßen. Doch ohne Adelsstand wollte auch der junge Bursche nichts mehr von ihr wissen. Mit gebrochenem Herzen flüchtete sie sich bergan auf die andere Seite des Tales und fand schließlich Unterschlupf in eben dieser Felsengruppe, dem Dasenstein.
Die mit Sitzmöglichkeiten ausgestattete Dasensteinhütte lädt zur Rast unterhalb des bekannten Naturdenkmals in den Weinbergen ein. Von hier aus hat man einen herrlichen Ausblick in die Rheinebene, mit ein bisschen Glück bis hin nach Straßburg! Im vergangenen Jahr wurde dieser Aussichtspunt nicht umsonst zur "Schönsten Weinsicht" gekürt.
