Auf dem teils barrierefreien Baumkronenweg Edersee erleben Sie die pure Natur und die Schönheit des Waldes. Mit einem wunderschönen, vorgelagerten 750m langen Eichhörnchenpfad!
Am Südufer des Edersees, in unmittelbarer Nähe des Nationalpark Kellerwald-Edersee mit UNESCO-Weltnaturerbestätte, gewährt der Baumkronenweg Besuchern ein unvergessliches Natur- und Walderlebnis. Barrierefrei spazieren Sie entlang des 750 m langen Eichhörnchenpfades vom Waldboden bis in die Baumkronen. Von der Aussichtsterrasse aus haben Sie einen wunderbaren Blick auf den Edersee und Schloss Waldeck. Der Baumkronenweg am Edersee ist mit seinen 250 m ein ideales Ausflugsziel für alle, ob alleine oder in Gruppen und bietet viel Lehrreiches für Groß und Klein. Auch Hunde sind gerne willkommen.

Die Anreise über die Straße empfiehlt sich durch Hemfurth über die Bringhäuser Straße (K35) Richtung Rehbach.
Parken Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Ein Busparkplatz befindet sich direkt vor dem Kassenhaus. Auch für Fahrräder gibt es genügend Abstellmöglichkeiten.

Bitte beachtet, dass die Fahrradmitnahme in den Bussen begrenzt ist. Fahrräder dürfen kostenfrei in den dafür gekennzeichneten Bereichen mitgenommen werden. Wenn es die Betriebslage erfordert, ist das Personal der Verkehrsunternehmen berechtigt, die Nutzung auszuschließen. Ein Anspruch auf Mitnahme besteht nicht. "AST-Taxi" (AnrufSammelTaxi) Verbindungen sind über die NVV-Fahrplanauskunft genaustens ersichtlich - www.nvv.de/fahrplanauskunft Tipp für das Smartphone - "NVV Mobil" App im jeweiligen App-Store vor der Tour herunterladen! Generell sollte auch das "AST-Taxi" mit in die Planung einfließen. Mit den AnrufSammelTaxis stellt der NVV die Mobilität auf den Strecken sicher, die nicht so stark nachgefragt werden. Statt mit dem Bus sind Sie hier in normalen Taxen oder Mietwagen unterwegs. Auch AST-Taxis haben feste Fahrplanzeiten – Sie müssen lediglich Fahrtwunsch (in der Regel) bis 30 Minuten vor der Fahrt telefonisch anmelden.   • There is one marked parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size: 350 cm x 500 cm).
  • The path from the car park to the entrance to the treetop path is 750 m long (squirrels path). It is easy to walk and drive on and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 12 % over a distance of 50 m.
  • The entrace and the treetop path is steplessly accessible.
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The cash desk is at its lowest point 90 cm high.
  • There is seating available.
  • Offered aids: wheelchair.

Squirrel path

  • The path is signposted throughout, 300 cm wide, has a low vibration surface and is easy to walk on and drive over. It is a water-bound blanket. There is a seating area.
  • There are several slight slopes (gradients and inclines); in the first half of the squirrel trail there are short slopes with 8 % (on 20 m) up to 12 % (on 10 m). In the second half there are also short inclinations with up to 8 % (at 30 m) and 9 % (at 10 m).
  • The stations at the squirrels path are predominately visible when seated.
  • The information on the stations is predominately readable when seated.

TreeTopTrail

  • The entrance door to the TreeTopTrail can be opened with the ticket (door width of at least 90 cm).
  • Paths on the treetop path are at least 160 cm wide and in most cases easy to walk on and drive on and have a maximum longitudinal gradient of up to 7 %.
  • On the treetop trail (TreeTopTrail) there are numerous adventure stations or objects (also touch and smell stations), usually attached to or in the railing. 
  • The objects are accessible , have sufficient manoeuvring space and are visible, perceptible and recognizable when sitting and standing.

Public toilet for people with disabilities 

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet 140 cm x 140 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 100 cm x 100 cm;
    left of the toilet 80 cm x 70 cm, no manoeuvring space on the right.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
