At a height of 466 metres, an imposing summit cross crowns the Großer Hausberg, the highest elevation of the Sickinger Höhe. The Christian symbol, designed after models from the Alps, is the first summit cross in the Kaiserslautern district. It was erected by the friends of gentian and local history of the community of Bann. The cross made of larch wood with a metal halo is four metres high and bears the inscription "Dem Himmel so nah" ("So close to heaven"). For hikers who want to immortalise themselves, there is also a summit book on the high plateau, which is stored in a small metal box.
