Thirty metres above the ground and just as far away from the edge of the steep slope, you can enjoy a unique panoramic view of the Elbe valley near Arneburg from a viewing platform.

A 30-metre-long walkway leads from the steep slope of Arneburg’s Castle Hill to a pavilion that seems to float in the air. It’s held in place by just two slender steel support columns. Thirty metres below, the wide River Elbe flows almost in a straight line, nestled in a verdant meadow landscape. Arneburg’s new 50-tonne attraction was inaugurated in 2015, directly on the Elbe Cycle Route (Elberadweg).

From the covered platform you can see for miles. From here, you can watch boats passing by or birds in flight. The view is particularly beautiful in spring when the lilacs are in bloom along the riverbanks. A coin-operated telescope offers an even better view. If you want to enjoy a romantic moment, come early in the morning as the sun rises. If you want to get even more romantic, you can actually get married on the viewing platform.

Public transport

From Stendal train station, it's a half-hour bus journey to Arneburg. From the bus stop "Arneburg, Schule" it is about 700 metres along Elbstraße and “Anger” to the viewing platform.
