Egal ob trittsicher oder nicht – von der Aussichtsplattform Alpspix, die nahe der Bergstation der Alpspitzbahn im Wettersteingebirge liegt, kann jeder das schöne Bergpanorama mit Zugspitzblick genießen.

Die Aussichtsplattform am Fuße der Alpspitze wurde im Sommer 2010 in Kreuzform erbaut. Sie besteht aus zwei übereinander gekreuzten Stegen, die jeweils 24 m lang sind. 11 m sind im Fels verankert, 13 m schweben in der Luft.

Um die Aussichtsplattform zu erklimmen, ist keine Kondition notwendig. Der Aufstieg erfolgt bequem in der Alpspitzbahn. Allerdings sollte man schwindelfrei sein und keine Höhenangst haben. Denn der 3 m breite Weg schwebt etwa 8 m über dem felsigen Untergrund. Am Ende der Konstruktion erreichen die Besucher dann eine Glaswand und haben dort einen sensationellen Blick, der fast 1000 m in die Tiefe reicht.

Die Form- und Farbgebung des AlpspiX wird sich an der Umgebung orientieren, um die einzigartige Bergkulisse nicht zu beeinträchtigen. Ein bestehender Rundweg am Osterfelderkopf wurde im Rahmen des Ausbaus neu konzipiert und mit zahlreichen Schautafeln zu Flora und Fauna der Region und einer kinderwagengerechten Wegführung ausgestattet.
