The market town of Metnitz is located in the valley of the same name on the border with Styria in the north of Carinthia - stretches from an altitude of 730 m in the east through extensive forests and alpine pastures to an altitude of more than 2000 meters in the west. The extensive valley offers hikers the opportunity to explore the fauna and flora of this untouched piece of nature on marked hiking trails.
The recreation area of the market town of Metnitz is far away from busy streets and industrial plants. The ideal altitude guarantees a sunny and fog-free climate and the market town of Metnitz is one of the few areas in Carinthia that has no air pollution.
