Kulturelles Zentrum der Stadt Papenburg

Als die Meyer Werft an ihren größeren Standort umzog, hinterließ sie ein reizvolles Gebäude-Ensemble, in dem seit 1992 das kulturelle Herz der Stadt Papenburg schlägt: Zum „Forum Alte Werft“ gehört unter anderem die Stadthalle mit rund 900 Plätzen, das „Theater auf der Werft“ mit circa 240 Plätzen, die Kunstschule Zinnober und die städtische Galerie.

Zum besonderen Charme des Kultur- und Veranstaltungsortes trägt das industrielle Erbe bei, das überall noch sichtbar ist. Sogar einzelne Maschinen blieben an Ort und Stelle und erinnern so an die lange Schiffbau-Tradition der Stadt.

Museal wirkt das „Forum Alte Werft“ dennoch nie: Musicals, Konzerte, Theateraufführungen, Ausstellungen oder Kongresse füllen das Industriedenkmal mit Leben.

Die Öffnungszeiten richten sich nach den Veranstaltungen.
