Das kleine Moorgebiet zwischen Oberhausen und Huglfing ist Teil des Natura 2000-Schutzgebiets Grasleitner Moorlandschaft. Der überwiegende Teil des Gebiets liegt weiter südwestlich - zwischen Böbing, Oberhausen, Huglfing und Uffing am Staffelsee.
