Vom 1807 m hohen Stripsenkopf aus genießt man ein großartiges Bergpanorama über das gesamte Kaisergebirge. Das 1577 m hohe Stripsenjoch, über dem sich der Stripsenkopf erhebt, bildet den Übergang zwischen dem Gebirgszug des Wilden Kaisers, der überwiegend aus blankem Kalkfels besteht, und dem Zahmen Kaiser, der vorrangig mit Berg- oder Latschenkiefern bewachsen ist.
