Der Schnippenkopf (1833) ist der hintere und der höchste Gipfel der drei Berge in der Sonnenkopf Gruppe, die zwischen dem Retterschwanger Tal (Bad Hindelang) und dem Illertal (Sonthofen - Oberstdorf). Die beiden anderen sind der Sonnenkopf (1712 m) und der Heidelbeerkopf (1767 m) .
