Auf die Schafbergwand im Alpstein führen einige schöne Klettertouren. Für Wanderer ist der Berg unbedeutend – der Normalweg ist sehr anspruchsvoll.
Die klassische Klettertour ist die Schafbergkante (VI).
Besonders in der Übergangszeit sind der Sandührliweg (6b) oder der Thurgauweg (6a) in der sonnigen Südwand am Schafberg lohnend.
