Der höchste Berg der Gruppe ist der 3004 m hohe Kesselkogel, der über einen eher leichten Klettersteig vom Grasleitenpass aus bestiegen werden kann. Die Erstbesteigung erfolgte bereits 1873 durch die Briten Tucker und Carson mit dem Führer Bernard. Die beiden Briten bewältigten auch die zweithöchste Spitze der Gruppe, die Rosengartenspitze, als erste Bergsteiger. Seit 2009 ist die Rosengartengruppe als Teil der Dolomiten ein Weltnaturerbe.
