Blick ins Unterland und nach Nonsberg

Der Roèn oder auch Monte Roèn genannt liegt im Mendelkamm und ist mit 2116 m der höchste in dieser Berggruppe. Nach Osten fällt er steil ab und an seinem Fuße befindet sich das berühmte Dorf Tramin an der Weinstraße. Seiner freien Lage verdankt er eine grandiose Aussicht, berühmt ist aber auch der floristische Artenreichtum, der schon 1565 zur ersten nachgewiesenen Besteigung des 1528 als »Romeiner Perg« erwähnten Gipfels geführt hat. Auf einer Kanzel unter der Ostwand und hoch über dem Etschtal wurde 1912 durch die damalige Sektion Überetsch des Deutschen und Österreichischen Alpenvereins die Überetscher Hütte erbaut.
