Der Paternkofel ist 2744 m hoch und liegt in den Sextener Dolomiten. Das Panorama vom Gipfel mit den Drei Zinnen ist atemberaubend. An seinem Hang führt ein einfacher Wanderweg zur Dreizinnenhütte hinüber, etwas oberhalb liegt ein Bergpfad, der eine gelungene Abwechslung für trittsichere Wanderer darstellt.
