Three Peaks circuit hike
As one of the most inconceivable rock formations in the Alps, the Three Peaks possess a tremendous attraction for mountain lovers of all kinds. This was addressed by the construction of a toll road from Misurina to the Rifugio Auronzo. Those who ascend from there through the south side of the peaks to the Paternsattel are granted a view into the magnificent north faces. Continuing the hike via the Dreizinnenhütte and Forcella Col di Mezzo to the Rifugio Auronzo, forms a circular route from which the fascinating Trias can be admired from all sides.
From Rif. Auronzo on the wide path no. 101 along the scree slopes beneath the south faces of the peaks, flat toward the east to the Madonna della Croda chapel and the Paul Grohmann memorial stone, 2314 m, then to Rif. Lavaredo, 2344 m. Shortly before it, turn left and ascend northwards over scree to the Paternsattel, 2454 m. Beyond this, take the wide footpath no. 101 down the scree slopes and moraines beneath the west faces of Paternkofel to the fork below a rocky steep rise. Keeping right, ascend in several switchbacks to the saddle of Toblinger Riedel with the Dreizinnenhütte, 2405 m. Descend again to the previously mentioned fork and turn right on path no. 105 winding down to another fork. Take the left path no. 105 steeply down through scree terrain to Rienzboden. Beyond this, traverse steeply right over scree slopes to the grassy kar plateau of Langen Alpe. From there southwards over and through doline depressions to the Langalm snack station, 2231 m. Continue south through
