Mit 972 m ist der Nußhardt der dritthöchste Berg im Fichtelgebirge und befindet sich direkt am Fränkischen Gebirgsweg zwischen Schneeberg (1051 m) und Seehaus.
Der Bereich um den Granitgipfel samt Blockmeer steht unter Naturschutz. Der Aussichtsfelsen wird über eine Besteigungsanlage erreicht und bietet einen weitreichenden Panoramablick ins Fichtelgebirge.
