Teatro di durissimi scontri durante la Grande Guerra, questa cima passò più volte di mano: gli Austriaci riuscirono a impadronirsene durante l'offensiva del 15 giugno 1918 ma venne successivamente espugnato il 24 ottobre con un brillante assalto della brigata Aosta; dopo aver resistito per tre giorni a tutti i ripetuti e tenaci tentativi di riconquista, il giorno 27 un'intera divisione austriaca lanciata contro il monte poté aver ragione della disperata resistenza di pochi reparti alpini (dei battaglioni Aosta, Val Toce e Cadore) stanchi e decimati, che erano rimasti a difendere la posizione. Infine, il mattino del 31 ritornò definitivamente italiano.
È raggiungibile percorrendo i sentieri CAI 845-843 da Schievenin o da Ponte d'Avien (Valle di Seren del Grappa) oppure 156 (Alta Via degli Eroi).
