The Karkogel is located in Hüttschlag and is a rewarding destination for ski tourers in winter. From the summit, there are beautiful views of the Plattenkogel, Mandlkogel and Keeskogel, as well as the surrounding ski touring area. The tour is considered challenging and requires good skiing ability as well as careful route selection on the descent.

Directions
The starting point for the route is the parking lot Aschaustüberl (avalanche beacon checkpoint at the bridge), 1,027 m. It can be reached from St. Johann Pongau via the Großarler Landesstraße (L109) to Hüttschlag, then about 4 km further to Aschaustüberl (meeting place for ski tourers!).Parking
