Das 1737 m hohe Hahnenköpfle zählt zur Höfats-Gruppe in den Allgäuer Alpen.
Bekannt ist der Gipfel vor allem, weil der viel begangene Weg vom Oytal nach Gerstruben südöstlich verläuft. Von diesem Weg ist es nur ein kleiner Abstecher auf den Berg. Das Hahnenköpfle kann ohne nennenswerte Schwierigkeiten bestiegen werden, eine gewisse Trittsicherheit sollte jedoch vorhanden sein. Benannt ist der Berg nach dem Spiel- oder Auerhahn, der früher häufig hier anzutreffen war. Vom Gipfel bietet sich eine schöne Aussicht auf die umliegenden Berge und den Seealpsee.
